Dear Friends,

In our last episode we spoke about software performance and this time I thought we would touch base on software performance monitoring. For that, I spoke with Mahesh Somani, who currently works for eBay as distinguished engineer. It is a rather difficult topic to cover and I had fun talking to Mahesh and hope you will enjoy it too.

cheers !

Friends,

We have a new podcast around User Experience(UX) with Ashutosh Kumar. Ashutosh is too deep into UX and I really enjoyed talking to him. He currently works for Yahoo! . In the past worked with companies like Human Factors International. All his work experience has been around UX so he surely knows this stuff !

As we all know UX is so important these days, and many folks around us claim to know it. Just designing good-looking material is not UX and that is what exactly Ashutosh explains us during this podcast. We had a phone call not a skype call this time. During the chat, Ashutosh did mention some URLs which one must visit, and they are listed below. His one presentation can be found here .

Dear Friends,
Siddartha is devoted to Agile computing and in 40 odd minutes we could just touch base on this topic at a very high level but it was an informative and thought proving talk. Siddharta is the founder of Silver Stripe Software, a Chennai based start-up that develops agile tools for teams. His personal blog is here.
Note: This time around our Skype connection did not support us the way it usually does. So the voice is breaking at some places and at some places we have some background noise because of slow connection or some other technical glitch which we just could not avoid this time. For podcast enthusiasts it should not matter too much. I hope :)

Friends,
This time we have an author and researcher in our show ! Subhajit Datta is a researcher with IBM and is also very passionate about writing. He has written two interesting books Software Engineering: Concepts and Applications and Metrics-Driven Enterprise Software Development. He is also a visiting professor in IIITB. In this episode we talked about a topic which always makes us think - software engineering in theory and practice.
We know some form of it is taught but how much of theory is enough to bring it to practice ? We tried covering this rather difficult topic and it was very nice chat.

Subhajit also maintains a blog which is here.
Note: Around 35 minutes into the recording speaker has refereed to the "WISWYG syndrome" and then gone on to explain it as "I Know it Once I See it". Speaker meant "IKIWISI syndrome" and not "WISWYG"
cheers !

Friends,

I had a great chat with Kamal Govindraj around Spring. Kamal is a SME in quite a few technologies including Spring. He spoke a bit about many things and we finally ran out of time. In 40 mins or so he did cover history of Spring, Why Spring is so cool, his views on some other web frameworks, Spring sub projects and many more things.

Note: I tried LAME and compressed my mp3 from 70MB odd to 10MB odd. Now this is magic but if anyone of you while listening (I did not) feel that there is something funny in the recording let me know and I will upload the original recording.

cheers !
